Creating a Culture of Calling

An amazing week of early mornings and late nights …
Of competition and cooperation …
Of worship and Bible study …
Of connection and calling …

Attending Unidiversity last week was both energizing and deeply hopeful. It reminded me that this generation is asking thoughtful questions, longing for authentic community, and eager to make a difference in the world. The theme, “Rise Above,” was based on Bible Study from the prophet Micah and challenged us to be prophets in our own time where we do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

One of the greatest joys for me was leading the Alumni Bible studies on Creating a Culture of Calling through our study of Micah. These are college-age students whose willingness to engage Scripture honestly, share their own stories, and encourage one another in discerning God's leadership in their lives was encouraging as well as inspiring.

Throughout the week, I was reminded that creating a culture of calling isn't simply the work of churches or ministry organizations—it is something we build together as we affirm one another's gifts, challenge each other to grow, and make room for every voice God is calling.

I left Unidiversity grateful for new relationships, meaningful and holy conversations, and the privilege of witnessing God at work in the lives of these remarkable young adults. I am hopeful for the future of the Church because I have seen the faith, compassion, and courage of those who are already answering God's call.

Thanks be to God!

All love,
Leslie
