Stories that
Open Doors!
On Tuesday, December 2, Baptist Women in Ministry of North Carolina invites you to join us in empowering the next generation of women called to ministry. This Giving Tuesday, we are focusing our generosity on one purpose: strengthening the BWIM NC Scholarship Fund.
Each year, our scholarship program helps women across North Carolina answer God’s call—supporting their theological education, easing financial burdens, and reminding them that their gifts matter. With your help, we can open even more doors.
🎯 Our Goal: $1,500
Today, we want to begin to share stories that show exactly what your support can do.

$1,500.
This is an achievable, deeply impactful goal. Every gift—large or small—moves us closer to equipping women for ministry in churches, chaplaincy, and all the ways that God is calling them to use their unique gifts. Together, we can ensure that financial barriers never silence a woman’s calling.
As we prepare our hearts for generosity this season, we invite you to join us on December 2. Your support changes stories. Your support changes lives.
Let’s make this Giving Tuesday a day of abundance and empowerment.
We invite you to be part of something powerful—something that changes the trajectory of women’s lives, churches, and communities across North Carolina.
Your generosity makes their “yes” possible.
Your gift ensures that women across North Carolina—women like Kim—can lead with confidence, courage, and the full support of the BWIMNC community behind them.
We invite you to give generously and help us continue empowering women in ministry. When you give to the BWIMNC scholarship fund, you’re not just funding education, you are nurturing leadership, strengthening churches, and transforming communities.
Thank you for believing in this work. Thank you for believing in women.
All love,
Leslie
Meet Kim Wilkinson
I am enrolled in Campbell Divinity School pursuing my Master of Divinity degree. I plan to complete the degree in Spring 2027. Although I am still going through the discernment process, I recognize a strong interest in Chaplaincy work and I’m exploring those opportunities. While the pursuit of my degree is keeping my mind busy, I am thoroughly enjoying the process of learning how to understand Scripture on my own, developing my theology of worship, and realizing how much our own perspective can taint the way we view any issue.
I am extremely appreciative of the BWIMNC scholarship! Without the financial assistance, I am not sure I would have been able to attend divinity school. Paired with the financial gift was also the support I felt upon receiving the scholarship, which helped me feel validated in this calling. BWIMNC, I will always feel a deep sense of gratitude for your financial support as well as your vocal support of women in ministry. Thank you!
Meet Cristal Ocampo Ruiz
“In this season of my life, as an MDiv Student at Duke Divinity School, the scholarship and support of BWIM NC are tangible signs that God answers prayers in the least expected ways and through the kindest of people.
I am forever grateful to the BWIM NC. Your generosity and support have lifted a weight that cannot be carried alone and have given me renewed strength to continue my academic journey with motivation and purpose.”
Meet Rev. Lynn Lingafelt
“I’m in my 25th year as Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church, Raleigh, and still feeling stretched and invigorated by the many different expressions of parish ministry in my world. I started my studies at Campbell University Divinity school on a wing and a prayer, knowing that on paper the hours in a day and money in the bank didn’t add up for me to pursue an MDIV.
The BWIM NC scholarship helped me to make ends meet, thus enabling me the enriching opportunity to broaden and deepen my theological understanding which enabled me to be more prepared, more equipped in my second career as a Children’s Minister. I’m grateful for the ways this scholarship and BWIM NC have provided support for me, and I’m grateful for the ways they continue to provide resources for women who are pursuing a profession in ministry.
