Rev. Tambi Brown Swiney
Spiritual Director
Rev. Tambi Brown Swiney is a spiritual director, ordained Baptist minister, retreat leader, and writer. She has pastoral experience in both congregational and community contexts, having served as associate pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church and chaplain at The Next Door Recovery - both in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Asheville, where she serves as a deacon.
As a volunteer, Tambi is actively engaged at ABCCM's Recovery Living Ministry at Costello House and the Western Correctional Center for Women at Swannanoa. She has served Baptist Women in Ministry as a board member and mentor. She represented the Religious Liberty Council on the BJC Board of Directors. Tambi served on the Tennessee CBF Coordinating Council before relocating to Western North Carolina in 2022.
Tambi earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, her Master of Divinity degree from Samford University, and her spiritual direction certification from the Haden Institute.
